2. Hosting and server logs

This website is operated on servers of IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Strasse 57, 56410 Montabaur, in a data centre in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.

Each time a page is called up, data transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in log files:

This processing is technically necessary in order to deliver the website, ensure its stability and detect attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and functional operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest; they are not merged with any other data.

3. Cookies

This website does not use any tracking cookies and therefore needs no consent banner. A small note at the bottom of the screen merely informs you about the web analytics in use. If you close that note, your browser remembers this locally (localStorage, key cookie-note-dismissed); no data is transmitted to us in the process. This storage is technically necessary and permitted under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act).

4. Web analytics with Umami

For web analytics we use the open-source software Umami . Umami is self-hosted on our own server within the European Union; no data is passed on to third parties and no transfer to a third country takes place.

Umami works without cookies and stores no personal data: no cookies are set, IP addresses are not stored, and no cross-device identifier is created. Only aggregated information is recorded, such as the pages called up, the approximate source of the visit (e. g. search engine or referring website), browser and device type, and the country of origin. It is not possible to draw conclusions about individual people.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly analysis of the reach of our online offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As no cookies are set and no information is stored on or read from your device, consent under § 25 TDDDG is not required.

5. Contact, demo and trial forms

You can use the forms on this website to send us a message or to request the free 14-day trial or a personal demo appointment. We process the details you enter yourself – name, company, industry, email address, telephone number and your message – plus, technically, the time of submission and your IP address.

The IP address and a simple check question before submission serve to prevent automated spam entries. The data is stored on our server in Germany named above and transferred into our own customer management system, which is likewise operated in Germany, so that your enquiry is not lost. It is used solely to process your enquiry; it is not passed on to third parties.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry serves to initiate a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the data as soon as your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention periods apply; for business transactions the commercial and tax retention periods of six and ten years respectively apply.

6. Fonts and images

Fonts and images are loaded entirely from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other external image services , so your IP address is not transmitted to anyone for this purpose.

7. Product video (YouTube)

On the home page we embed a product video hosted on YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The video is not loaded automatically. As long as you do not click it, you only see a preview image served from our own server – until then no request whatsoever goes to Google or YouTube.

The player is only loaded once you click the preview image. YouTube then learns your IP address as well as technical details about your browser and device, and may transfer data to the USA; an adequacy decision of the EU Commission is in place for the USA (EU-US Data Privacy Framework). We use the enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com domain). According to Google, cookies or comparable identifiers are then only set when playback starts, not already when the player loads.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by deliberately clicking the video (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). We point out this consequence directly at the preview image. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by reloading the page and not starting the video again. For details of the data Google processes thereafter, please see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Link to the Apple App Store

We link to the app eMODAT Wohnungsübergabe in the Apple App Store. The link is an ordinary hyperlink – no data is transmitted to Apple as long as you do not click it. After that, Apple’s privacy policy applies. Separate information, which is made available to you inside the app, applies to processing within the app itself.

9. Recipients of your data

We do not pass your data on beyond this. Data is never sold.

10. Retention periods

We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods. In detail:

Where the period cannot be determined in advance in an individual case, it depends on how long the data is needed for the stated purpose. Once it expires, the data is deleted or anonymised.

13. No automated decision-making

Automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, does not take place.

14. Obligation to provide data

This website can be used without providing personal data. If you wish to contact us through a form, we need at least your name and a means of contacting you – without these details we cannot answer your enquiry. There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data.

We adapt this policy whenever the technology in use or the legal situation changes. The version published here, bearing the date shown below, is the one that applies.
